The infamous Bailey “Half Wavelength” TL or Labyrinth loudspeaker. (Not Quarter!). Rather than follow the original design this labyrinth was made almost twice as long as the original design. It was a pig to get to work properly. Three layers of different absorbents were tried over several months before we struck sonic gold. I would NEVER undertake such a project again. Hours of listening, sweeping frequencies and getting rid of standing waves, abnormalities and much more. The B110B is in its own mini labyrinth and the Decca Ribbon tweeter sounds better without the acoustic lenses. Crossover is electronic with a Crimson Elektrik 170/4 amplifier for each driver. Too much blood sweat and tears went into perfecting this setup, more basic and sound knowledge and fundamentals was learnt in this task than any other. It still sounds omnipotent, delicate and articulate. Thank heavens that the drivers are still in as good condition as when new… The anodising on the B139s has done the usual trick and is no longer black. My friend is still happy with this setup and would not change them for anything!
